What Is the Monkey App?<\/h2>\n \n

Monkey is a random video chat app built around speed. Launched in 2016, famously created by a group of teenagers, it reinvented the chat roulette<\/a> idea for the swipe generation: instead of open-ended calls, Monkey pairs you with a stranger for a 15-second live video match. A timer counts down while you talk. If you both tap, time is added and the conversation continues. If either of you lets it run out, the roulette spins on to the next person.<\/p>

Before the cameras connect, Monkey shows you basic details about your match, such as age, gender and location, and matching leans on your preferences and lightweight interest hashtags.
